May: Don’t scorch, stay serene

Greetings,

Global Warming! Once talk of the 80’s & 90’s, isn’t a supposition anymore. Man’s over ambitiousness and lack of foresightedness left no stone unturned, to have triggered the initial effects of the phenomenon. Earth’s temperature’s been highest, glaciers melting, abrupt weather changes signifying the change that won’t go in our favor at all (recent incidents of dust storms have already claimed hundreds of lives). The summers are hotter than ever (40+ temperature in the starting of April in North India); winters confined at higher altitudes. While cities at lower altitudes, bade goodbye to winters in the month of February pretty early. Our very homely bird, sparrow; have you seen her lately? And this trend shall continue reaching towards dangerous levels, when mankind will cry for Mother Nature, whom they consumed to every bit, by themselves.

Man has always followed his instinct irrespective to the consequences and paid for it even; sometimes the price is hefty. But then, Man has always learned and thus rebuild in hopes for a better society. Today, in order to reconcile we must start taking small steps on individual levels that will turn to improve our planet’s position. Obviously the wreckage didn’t happen in one day and hence the recouping shall too, will take time; generations may be. But if we want our future generations to breathe in the clean air that have polluted, we have to make a start taking small but significant measures:

o   Conserve water, restraining it’s wastage in any form.
o   If you have a RO purifier, make sure the wasted water is used for cleaning purposes (clothes, floor, utensils, planting etc.)
o   Plant more in your home.
o   Try to stay less in air-conditioners, especially your children. They must spend more time in natural air, rather in artificial; this will help in their healthy growth.
o   Keep earthen bowls filled with water for birds.
o   Build a habit of working in the natural light coming through your window, instead of working in tube lights/bulbs; this will save your bills as well as the environment.
o   Plastic may look as the blessing, but it is the worst curse that we have endowed on nature in return of its various gifts.
o   Yog, it is the gift of ‘adiyogi’ Bhagwan Shiv to mankind, for a healthy lifestyle, brace it.
o   Start including organic in your diet.

{Dust Storms are still in radar and a major threat to people's lives}

The crux of the matter is, the more we adopt nature, better the world be gradually; before its LATE.

In May, apart from the dust storms, the political upheaval in Indian politics (Karnataka politics to be precise) also made enough turbulence to keep people astounded. Before going further, let's have a look at the following pictures:

These above pictures are from the Oath taking ceremony of the newly "out of desperation" formed coalition. When BJP emerged as the largest party in the state but fell short from the magical no.s, the INC & JDS joined hands (who actually made accusations at each other during election campaign) and claimed the Karnataka governance. Now, I am not getting into the right/wrong stuff, as the pro INC will say that the same happened in Goa, Manipur & Meghalay where BJP formed the government in similar fashion; while the pro BJP will say that in Goa, the Congress in-charge was busy in merrymaking and didn't approached the governor, hence BJP formed an alliance and did the needful., and same happened in Manipur, BJP being the second largest party. But in Meghalaya, where BJP won only 2 seats, there also Congress failed in spite of being the largest party and hence, BJP supported the National People Party and became a part of the Meghalaya government. The crux of the matter is, Congress lacked conviction then; and even now, that's why in spite of being the second largest party, the CM came from JDS. This is called an act of desperation under low confidence, or rather no confidence leadership (yes, you know what do I mean).

Anyways, like I said, no point in getting there; my focus is over the above two pictures. Focus and observe, once the sworn enemies are standing here hand in hand. And the star of the show, who roared like a champion: "Jo Humse Takraayega, Woh Choor-choor Ho Jayega". After all, it was under her regime, democracy was reborn in Bengal, and everyone saw that recently, in May.
These 'once the enemies', holding hands today, have managed to find common grounds. Among those common grounds, here's one for you - these are the faces who supported the JNU Anti-India gang. All I want to say is, REMEMBER THIS, before making your opinion; rest, TIME shall decide.

See you next month!
